Send a Parcel to Berlin, Germany

Probably the best known city in Germany, the capital was famous for many years for being split in two by the Berlin wall. The cold war ended and in 1989 the wall was quite literally taken down by the people.

East Berlin was renowned for its nightlife before the second World War, and the East of the city now has regained much of this nightlife following extensive years of investment since the wall came down, indeed for nearly two decades Berlin was the largest building site in Europe with 100’s of cranes filling the sky.

It has a highly tolerant society with an active street café society and nightlife.

The old has been blended in with the new and examples of modern steel and glass blending in with old structures can be seen at the Potsdamer Platz. The city is split up in to six different districts each with their own personality. The city is also home to around 400,000 Turks.

Whilst many buildings from WW II were destroyed during the war, many remain and have been preserved the most famous of which has to be the Brandenburg gate, which was the symbol of the Berlin wall.

Berlin is a young city and many activities and cultural venues are focussed on young people.

Getting around is easy due to excellent public transport systems and many of the staff speak English following training for Euro 2006. Don’t be afraid to simply approach a group of people and ask for directions or help. It’s a friendly city.

Berlin is home to many museums and these can be accessed cheaply by purchasing a museum pass. The museums covering the 20th century such as the Deutsches Historiches Museum are recommended.

When sending parcels to Germany, Berlin's transport links should ensure that it reaches its destination swiftly. Local parcel shipment systems are efficient and you should easily be able to track your parcel after you select one of our worldwide shipping services from the UK.
