The UK parcel delivery company Yodel Mobile has signed an asset management contract with Ryzex to use the leverage of the Ryzex mobility model for managing its 15,000 handheld terminals, this has been done to enable Yodel to save around £500k per year.
Yodel, the UK's second largest parcel delivery company, has signed a mobile asset management contract with Ryzex, who are industry leading experts in deploying and running enterprise-wide mobility solutions. Under the new agreement, the company will supply over 15,000 hand held terminals to Yodel and provide asset and mobile device management as part of the contract. This will then enable Yodel to manage the mobile terminals from a centralised platform. This should save the parcel giant a minimum of £500,000 per annum by improving its mobile asset management that should save the money by increasing efficiency of its service centres.
Such a large scale operation as Yodels requires effective management of its mobile assets, and for this reason Yodel extended its contract with industry leader Ryzex, following a previous four year arrangement.
Ryzex's asset management services will be used by Yodel to ensure the physical security and control of its handheld terminals. They will also manage all repairs and replacement terminals, as well as updating terminal software as required. They will also use Ryzex's mobile device management services, which can be used to remotely manage terminals, access helpdesk support as well as providing an online asset tracking portal.
Speaking for Yodel Greg Smith, Chief Information Officer said, "We have worked with Ryzex for many years and have always been pleased with their advice on our mobility strategy. Extending our agreement will allow Ryzex to broaden the scope of its support to us and will allow us to enhance the doorstep experience, which is fundamental to Yodel's service."
