Your package if packed well will ensure that it is delivered safely and in one piece. The following reminders can assist you:
Make Sure That We Accept Your Package:
Read the prohibitions and the restrictions page before you start. Your ignorance to these instructions may cause delays or damage to the other packages as well. Customers have to sign on receipt to agree to the terms and conditions of Retail Carriage Services. Customers who send to non-EU destinations have to state the package contents on a customs pack.
Properly Seal The Parcel:
Seal all the unwrapped edges of a package with wide plastic or tape. Support the carton with tape equally from the top and bottom of your package. Household adhesive tape is not generally strong enough and you would be advised to use packaging tape instead which is easily accessible.
Wrap All Items Individually:
Put each item in a separate inner box then wrap one by one in a bubble wrap. It takes extra time but gives the best protection. When you are sending something like a torch, remove the battery and pack it separately in a way that it cannot affect other items. The same goes for cell phones, cameras or any other item that contains a battery. Always remove the battery and package it up separately to ensure the safe passage of the items.
Electrical Items Safety:
While transporting some electrical items, make sure that all the screws are well held as they were in original form, so that the elements will not move during transit.
Stop Movement of Items:
Please make sure that your various items inside one package do not strike each other inside the packaging. Hard items should be placed in strong boxes with inner packaging also. Musical instruments should be packed like this, and if you put them in a single case with no secure packaging then no compensation will be available for damages.
Don't Strap Several Boxes Together:
This can cause all items to be damaged. Keep all the items in a single box or you may send them via separate parcels. A mail delivery company will not compensate those items which are strapped together.
Know Your Containers Strength:
Most companies have an instruction page that has a table to count the material and packing capacity of container. We recommend using an inner packing box as better shelter against damage. Any compensation claim will be deemed undesirable if the parcel was poorly packed or the inner packaging was not retained for verification.
Use the Correct Address:
The full and correct address and post code is necessary for exact delivery. The contact number of recipients and senders should be written on the customs pack for any items being sent overseas.
Labelling of Luggage:
Use labelling for luggage items. Make sure that you affix the label with the help of a plain plastic envelope.
Completing Documentation:
All the required documentation should completed fully and correctly for all parcels to evade delay-in-transit. Address labels attached should be easily readable.
